Pet Bathing Tips

Some pets can be a little uncomfortable about getting bathed, which is why they often run away when bath time approaches. Here at Pet Bath 4 Less it is our goal to make bath time not only enjoyable for out furry friends, but also comfortable and convenient for all the pet lovers out there. For additional help in bathing your pet, we have provided a few bathing tips.

Tips for Bathing Your Pet:

  • Consider your pet’s activities when settling on a bathing schedule. It is advisable to bathe your pet whenever they are dirty or when they smell unpleasant. Over washing your pet can make their skin dry and itchy, because you are washing away their natural protective oils that their body produces. Use a shampoo that will moisturize their skin if you expect to be bathing your pet frequently.

  • Be sure to check the temperature of the water first, before you begin wetting your pet. The animal being washed will be very uncomfortably if the water is too chilly. At the same time, if the water is to hot it could harm them. Wait for the running water to become warm enough to be soothing. Much like you would if you were washing a child. Use a hose with sprayer or a pitcher to gently pour the water over the pet’s entire body.

  • Warm weather makes outdoor bathing an ideal wash time for many pets. A portable pet bath tub can come in quite handy for a time like this. Or our Booster Bath to prevent back ache. Make bath time a fun time!

  • If you are bathing indoors, be sure to keep the door closed to deny them an exit in case your pet decides to escape bath time. Having a big pet bath tub can take up so much space, which is why pet owners can opt for our Dirty Dog Bath tub. This pet bath tub has a collapsible feature, which makes it perfect for portability, simple to store when not needed, and easy set-up.

  • When you are washing your pet keep your hands covered with rubber textured gloves. These gloves work well to gently clean the pet while giving them a nice massage at the same time. Your precious pet will enjoy this relaxing massage and keep them tame during bath time. Making bath time a pleasurable experience for your pet will turn it into a positive experience that they will look forward to.

  • Keep a rubber mat inside the pet bath tub to prevent them from sliding around clumsily on their four legs and potentially getting hurt. This will keep the pet inside the tub comfortably and without hassle.
